Holding beer?

I certainly did that on a RCI cruise. I had a bottle of gin that I had bought for someone I was staying with post-cruise and it was not a problem. I did not try to sneak it on. It sounds as if this beer is something you would be disappointed rather than devastated to lose. I for one would attempt it.

The threat of destroying contraband alcohol is when they find it in your checked luggage. Whether they actually destroy it or hold it, I have not idea. Now for the question at hand, I have taken alcohol and turned it in before boarding and they did save it and returned it to me the last night on the ship. This however happened quite a few years ago so it may or may not apply today. Remember that Princess rules dictated by corporate are not always followed on the ship with the emphasis being not to upset the pax. I believe that if you surrender it before boarding, they will keep it for you.
