Back-to-back cruising questions!

I have booked back to back cruises on Carnival Horizon July 31st and August 8th. We are staying in different rooms each week. Do we have to get off the ship in between the cruises? Totally exit and go back through security and then register all over again? Or do we only register and log in once at the beginning (obviously that would be optimal but I'm sure that's not how it happens). Also, could we exit without our luggage if we do have to get off? I was thinking maybe we could check out of our room and hang out in the family harbor lounge for a few hours with our luggage and then see if we could put our luggage in our next room (maybe on the balcony?) while we get off the ship and come back in. Or maybe Carnival has a place to store luggage in situations like this? I know it sounds crazy but just trying to think of ways to make it easier for my family of a 4 and 10 year old. Anyone had to do this before who can help me out? I have no idea what to expect. Thanks!

I don't have first hand knowledge with your luggage problem but from what I have read pack your bags and your room steward will move them to your new room.

Before the end of your first cruise, you will be given instructions on where to meet on changeover day. For us it was guest services. They took our cards off us, dinged us off, took us through immigration I think it was (as non US I do remember having our passports) and back on with new cards. Our old cards were returned to those who wanted them.

All in all we were off for about 20min. No bags just id.

While waiting for the ship to be cleared my daughters coloured and wrote in their diaries.

You'll receive a letter in your cabin the last night of the first cruise on what the process will be.

In my B2B experience those of us doing the next cruise met in the lobby bar, were escorted off the ship to customs and then back on the ship to receive our new Sail N Sign cards. The only glitch was they were not set up to take our photos so that was done when I was getting off the ship at my first port of call.

I had the same cabin so did not need to pack but have been told that your cabin steward would help move your luggage to the new cabin. I did mention my being on a B2B to my cabin steward, just in case.

Enjoy your B2B!

I've done it both ways.

In your situation having to change cabins. You will pack all of your folding clothes, not the closet and your steward will arrange to have your belongings moved while you are doing turn around.

Be sure to pack your safe and valuables in a small tote and keep those with you during the change over.

You will be notified by letter with all the procedures, but I always let my cabin steward know what's happening. If the 2nd cabin is not in his section I go meet my new cabin steward toward the end of the 1st week and let him know what is happening too.

Go to GS during the 1st week and make sure you are on the B2B list.

They usually have champagne in the Lobby upon re-boarding which is fast and efficient, just a walk off and walk on.
