RobNC2001 Posted December 31, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2005 Will be leaving in a few days on the Radiance. Staying in South Beach for a couple of days before hand so will take a cab from the hotel to port. Just wondering what would be the best way to get from the port to the airport on disembarkation. Are cabs readily available? Thanks! As always, I appreciate all the great information available from my fellow cruisers on this board!
Sheffie Posted December 31, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2005 Cabs have been available at all our ports of disembarkation. They make a lot of $$$ off of us!
RobNC2001 Posted December 31, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted December 31, 2005 Sheffie. Thanks. I know cabs are available at all ports. My question is are they READILY available. Often, with so may people disembarking at one time, it can be a real hassle to wait in line and catch a cab.
WI-Cruiser Posted December 31, 2005 #4 Share Posted December 31, 2005 Although I've heard of other people having to wait for a cab, we've never had any problems getting a taxi; always seemed to be plenty. We used the cruise line bus once and never again - we waited in that hot bus for what seemed like forever for it to fill up. Taxis from then on. cruisinfanatic Posted December 31, 2005 #5 Share Posted December 31, 2005 Trust us. Those cabs in miami are falling all over themselves trying to get you in them.
Cruising89143 Posted December 31, 2005 #6 Share Posted December 31, 2005 The cabs are lined up and waiting. I have never had a problem with getting a cab to the airport. I believe that the last time I used one the cost was $21.00 flat fee plus tip.
RobNC2001 Posted December 31, 2005 Author #7 Share Posted December 31, 2005 Thanks for the good information. Sounds like we shouldn't have a problem catching a cab from port to the Miami airport.
eagleatr Posted December 31, 2005 #8 Share Posted December 31, 2005 We just got back off of the Explorer 2 weeks ago and from the pier to the airport in Miami it is 24 buck same price as if you buy the transfers from RCCL. It is a set price that is listed in the cabs. So either way you go its the same amount but are a little more flexable with a cab and dont have to wait for the bus to fill up also are dropped right off at your airline. Hope this helps
