ClaireandHollie Posted May 9, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2018 This has probably been asked and answered before but we dock in palma for the day and want to go through to the main city centre bit. What's the easiest & most cost effective way to get there using transport? were 3 adults sailing this july, Many thanks QUOTE
hkto Posted May 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 11, 2018 You should be able to walk to Cathedral. Behind it is a number of older streets. Royal palace is also nearby. Shops are in the same areas which is crowded and touristy. If you want to go the beach (Palmanova, etc) use 100 series buses that stop close to the port. Around 30-40 min with traffic. https://www.tib.org/en/web/ctm Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Rare Huntingdon1701 Posted May 11, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2018 It's quite a walk if it's hot (took me 40 minutes). You can hire a bike just outside the terminal and there is a segregated cycle path all the way to the centre of town. There is also a bus that goes there. If you do decide on the public transport you need to walk to the port gates and keep going until you see a shopping mall in front of you (Porto Pi). Cross the main road and catch No 3 Bus into the centre of Palma. Best option is the shuttle bus or a taxi .
Mr Sea Gull Posted May 12, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 12, 2018 Really easy from Estacio Maritima you walk out of the port and right outside there are some bus stops you get the No1 bus takes you straight to the centre of Palma. They are very frequent Cost approx 2 to 2.5 euros each way but ask them to tell you where to get off on the bus back because its not obvious. When you get off you need to cross the road and walk over the grass before you realise that your back at Estacio Maritima

We did that this past April. The shuttle is very close to the ship and drops you off a short walk away from the city centre. The buses run back and forth frequently. We paid $15.US p/p return. Taxis are plentiful and cheap ,you can hail them anywhere also they do not expect a tip !!

Or per person? We will have four people, so we could easily fill a taxi on our own.
