wildabouttheworld Posted January 3, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2006 I have been reading posts from other cruise lines about tendering problems in the Caymans and Jamacia. Just wondering if it is a problem for any RC ships as well. Problem is long lines and not enough tenders to get people to port.
megr1125 Posted January 3, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2006 dON'T KNOW oops -about Cayman since it was canceled, but Jamaica is not a tender port....the ship is docked so you just walk off through security.
bluefintuna Posted January 3, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2006 Tendering at Grand Cayman is done by each individual ship. We were there in Dec. with nine other ships (too many). We didn't dock in town, but down the line and walked a short ways, but the sidewalks were hardly passable because of all the ships in port on the same day. Jill0526 Posted January 3, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2006 We're just off the Navigator 12/24 - 12/31. We didn't tender in Jamaica. You get off right on the dock. Many things are in walking distance to the ship. We found it very dirty, people begging as you walk back to the ship. We tendered in Cayman. Very fast process. The tender ships are huge! There was a line to get off the ship, but line moves quickly. Be sure to have your seapass card with you at all times. This seems to be what was holding up the line. People should take their seapass card out and have it ready to get off the ship. Many people fumbling through their bags, etc while everyone else waits. Hope that helps. lauren0309 Posted January 3, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 3, 2006 You do not tender in Jamaica. In Cayman Islands we grabbed a fast breakfast and went to line up downstairs to get a tender. We were fifth on line. The tenders run back and forth pretty frequently. In fact, after our excursion we went back on the ship and had lunch and then took another tender since we still had some time to walk around the island. imatarb Posted January 3, 2006 #6 Share Posted January 3, 2006 We were docked in Jamaica last year on the Carnival Victory, so that was a breeze. As for Grand Cayman, the tender was very brief, and it didn't take very long at all.
