Cruisinforasnoozin Posted May 30, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 30, 2018 We will be stopping in Vigo, Spain in October. I would have visited the CIE Islands on our own but due to low season the Ferries are unavailable and need to use ship excursion at a cost of $179.00 US per person (we are from Canada) making even more expensive. I enjoy photography but just wondering if it's worth it or if you would recommend a better alternative? Thanks

We took a private tour that a TA setup (I usually do my own) to Santiago de Compostela, the 3rd most holy pilgrimage site for Catholics after the Vatican and Jerusulem. So, you get a lot of history and photo ops. Here is the Vigo PortPage I did for our Roll Call in preparation for the cruise. If you have any question, please ask. NoelG Posted May 3, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 3, 2019 @JWGrayson, do you remember the name of the private tour company? Thanks!
campolady Posted May 3, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 3, 2019 (edited) Stay in Vigo and do the excellent tours4cruisers excursion around the town - they also do one to Santiago de Compostela. Run by very knowlegable locals and so cheap/superb value for money. Oh, and don't forget to sample the local seafood - especially the Oysters - it would be rude not to lol. hkto Posted May 3, 2019 #6 Share Posted May 3, 2019 (edited) As of 2018 authorization is needed to visit Cies www.mardeons.es/en/blog/islas-cies/espanol-como-visitar-las-islas-cies-obten-tu-autorizacion-de-la-xunta/ Other then this extra step trip is easy, goes from the same port where cruises dock and cost 16€ RT.
