Dining room

Since you have YTD you will likely get whatever is available. Or have long waits if you want something specific. I would hesitate to do YTD with that many people if you want to eat together every night.

For what it's worth, we had 16 people on the Magic (Late seating) and we had two tables of 8.

Ok I misunderstood YTD. We actually have early dining.

If you have early dining for 22 people then you should be good. What I recommend is, as soon as you board have someone from your party of 22 go to the MDR and talk to the Maitre D'. In my experience over 5 cruises (different cruise lines), if we go talk to the Maitre D' first thing they seem to be able to help out. I have seen/heard people talking to the Maitre D' the second night and he was like sorry everything is full now what you have is what you have. Thus is why we always go first thing even if we do not need anything special, but just to confirm our table and time.

Can anyone tell me how many people can sit per table on the Freedom?

If you have the booking numbers for all of your group, who wish to eat together, simply contact Carnival and have them linked together. This way they will put them at either 8 or 10 tops and near each other. We did this last year, had 3 8 tops next to each other. Worked out great for us. We did, however, confirm as soon as each guest got their sail & sign cards that the table numbers were 1 of 3 tables. If we had found that someone had a different table, we would have just gone to see the Maitre'd, I believe they are available about 3pm, and made them aware of any issues. Have fun and enjoy your cruise.
