Smoking in the Escape

When we were on the Escape this year, we noticed that the 6,7,8 atrium area always had a strong smoke smell due to the open casino on deck 7 and it spread into the other decks. They mind as well let people smoke in the 6,7,8 atrium as it would not make a difference since the casino gets very smoky and the ventilation doesn’t help since the area is open.

The Tobacco Road bar has a smoking room attached. We had a great group with a lot of active conversations when I was there. It was during the U.S. Presidential debates. It was very entertaining and we met a lot of new friends.

Do they allow smoking on the waterfront outside on deck 8??

According to several people I spoke with at NCL yes you can and if you don’t believe me check out the smoking policy on the NCL website. It states that ships with Waterfront areas you can smoke there. Just like the Brekaway.

I can't find that information this is what I found on the ncl site.

That is for Getaway and for Breakaway.

Escape has a different smoking policy for the Waterfront.

These are the designated smoking areas as of May 2018 when I was on the

ESCAPE

 

Unrestricted Designated Smoking Areas:

1. Humidor - deck 8

 

2. H2O - deck 17 (area around the bar but not at the bar) - uncovered with a variety of seating options

3. Waves Bar - deck 17 - (area around the bar but not at the bar) - uncovered with high top seating

 

Restricted Access Designated Smoking Areas:

1. Casino - deck 7 (designated area) - Players only

2. Haven - deck 19 (designated area) - Haven guests only

 

Note: Vibe is non smoking so you have to leave the Vibe and go down 2 decks and halfway across the ship to smoke at the Waves Bar.

 

AND

Note: There is no smoking on the Waterfront and the Escape does not have a covered outdoor designated smoking area.

I have made NCL corporate aware of the contradictory statements in the policy on their website.

We are in the process of reviewing the smoking policy and the designated smoking areas on the fleet.
