drush Posted April 17, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 17, 2004 I would like people's opinion regarding the differences in a Cat 8 extended balcony and a cat. 11 mini-suite? Do you think the mini-suite is worth the extra cost, $200 per person?
noodle Posted April 28, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2004 My one and only cruise was on the pride in a 8I which is on the Panorama deck with an extended balcony and we thought it was great. I have heard that the 11's are obviously more spacious and have a bathtup and VCR, so maybe if you have a child it might be worth the money for ease in bathing him/her and the videos. But, personally, the category 8 has the balconey so you can enjoy the views, and it is plenty big. I would take the $400 difference total and do fun excursions like the jungle canopy tour or swim with dolphins or ...well, there are a lot of other places I could spend $400. Have a great trip aboard the pride...we had a great honeymoon and met many wonderful people. Pride 02/15/04 Spirit 05/11/
serene56 Posted April 29, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2004 That extended balcony would keep me put. Although the 11's have bigger cabins then 8's if you have a true extended balcony stay where you are. Is this your first cruise? If not on your last cruise how often were you in your cabin. Pearl Z Posted May 9, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 9, 2004 We were in cat. 11 and I was dissapointed in the balcony. I would stay in the extended. Also the cat. 11 balcony looks over the deck below and not straight down to the water.
idiebabe Posted May 10, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 10, 2004 Mini-suite is definitely worth the extra money. The balcony is much wider than an extended balcony category 8. The extended balcony is deeper but the same width as a normal category 8 balcony. The bathroom and the dressing area alone is worth the extra money. The bathroom has a jacuzzi tub/shower and a double bowl vanity sink. There is much more closet space as well.
psw Posted May 13, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 13, 2004 Heck I was happy with the cat8 reg balcony for all the time I spent in my room and on the balcony..While I enjoyed the balcony I didnt camp out there, I rather enjoyed the ship and all it had to offer..
