new_cruiser Posted July 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2018 We will be going on a Panama Canal and Costa Rica cruise that has some stops with wet landings. I've picked up some Keen sandals (the kind with a closed toe and good tread) at REI for myself. My husband has wide feet. Any suggestions on water shoes that might work for someone with wide feet? I hope this is a good board to ask the question on.
diane.in.ny Posted August 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2018 Check TEVAs. My grandson has very wide feet and the velcro adjustable straps really make a difference. Something like this which has adjustable velcro all over https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0781VC2S7/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B0781VC2S7&linkCode=as2&tag=travsnipandmo-20&linkId=603f69e6dc6721a1057d7e92913fc99b
angie7911922 Posted December 11, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2018 I'm hoping this is not too late, and if it is, I"m sorry. TEVA is good, as Diane mentioned above. Salomon also has some amazing shoes for things like this: https://www.salomon.com/en-us/shop/men/shoes/sandals-water-shoes.html I find Salomon to be a bit more comfortable than TEVA if I'm on my feet for a long time, but I've worn both brands, and had good luck with both brands. new_cruiser Posted December 11, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted December 11, 2018 Thanks Angie. I found a pair at Land's End in wide that will work for him. They were on close out so we were lucky to get them before the sizes ran out. The Salomon shoes on that link are only in M sizes - they don't list any in wide. He has very wide feet so even for sandals, a regular width shoe won't work for him. He did try-on some Tevas. We bought dry bags large enough for our shoes so if we will be hiking or on our feed a lot after a wet landing, we can switch to better walking shoes once on land.
