Best time to add third person to a cabin

Does anyone know if the fare for the addition of a third person to a cabin generally goes up, down or stays the same after final payment is due? A friend has just expressed an interest in joining us for an upcoming cruise and we are wondering if it’s best to book now or wait until after the final payment is due (Aug 4th)? We have already paid our fare. Thanks.

I’d do it now if that person knows they are going. Waiting till later you could possibly see a price increase and also you could run into occupancy restrictions.

Do it ASAP.

If lifeboat capacity for that area is reached, a 3rd person cannot be added even if the stateroom has the capacity for more people.

The best time is when the 3rd person sails free. Offered several times recently. It would be a cancel and rebook, so you get the current promotions (including the 3rd person Free).
