Best Use of On Board Credit

Too much OBC and nothing in the shops appealed. DH took OBC in form of promotional chips in the casino and played blackjack till they were used up.

If he won, he received regular chips; if he lost they took the promotional chips which cannot be redeemed for cash. By the time the promotional chips were gone he was ahead. Then we cashed the chips in at the casino teller.

Ha ha. Never heard of too much OBC. Between gratuities, booze to take home, specialty restaurant, shopping, buying gifts, etc. There is always something to spend it on. We've never sailed with less than $600 OBC and have always managed to spend it.

For the non refundable OBC my wife takes it to the casino. They are so generous that they even give her a 10% bonus for converting it to casino "money", lol. She is going to play anyway might as well use the OBC. Whatever she wins, and surprisingly she wins pretty often, she'll take it and spend shopping on shore. And if she doesn't win she at leazt had fun .

But the first $290 goes to gratuities so that's why we take the $300 in OBC instead of the pre paid gratuities. This is for a 10 night cruise.
