edinburgher Posted August 31, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2018 I know the only washing and drying facility onboard Explorer is the laundry service, also that no irons are available, only the pressing service. Booked for a Caribbean itinerary and will have wet swimwear. Can anyone who has already sailed, say if there is one of those stretchy lines for drying clothing in the shower? And, Trying to minimize weight. Is there a decent library onboard and is there a passenger book exchange in there too? Thanks.

Sheila49 Posted September 1, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 1, 2018 Haven't been on Explorer but the other TUI ships I have been on have a library and book exchange. Sent from my iPad using Forums
edinburgher Posted September 3, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted September 3, 2018 Thanks to both for replies. We actually prefer "real" books over e-books, just personal preference really, and have found the onboard libraries are variable depending on the ship. Was curious about the setup on Explorer. Hopefully someone will comment on the bathroom clothesline. Bill, now that you discovered the joys of cruising, you will find it difficult to go back to hotel based trips. Enjoy. lexdisic Posted September 3, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 3, 2018 (edited) Can't say about whats in your bathroom but we always take one of these wherever we go https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gone-Travelling-Pegless-Washing-Line/dp/B00FJYL19Q/ref=pd_sbs_200_4?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00FJYL19Q&pd_rd_r=fab96a30-af5b-11e8-99c8-33d23753c678&pd_rd_w=3l2Iq&pd_rd_wg=zySZD&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_p=85d62760-2a0e-407d-aa36-f3c03afc01c3&pf_rd_r=8YS7Z6PM73AF2AFPGF6J&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&psc=1&refRID=8YS7Z6PM73AF2AFPGF6J Tap on the link above Edited September 3, 2018 by lexdisic Wrong instructions
edinburgher Posted September 8, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted September 8, 2018 An excellent tip. Never thought of taking one of these before as have never need one, but might have to consider it this time if nobody posts with a definite yes or no to the stretchy line question. Thanks for that. Vitalsign Posted September 8, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 8, 2018 We used a travel line on our balcony for drying whilst in port but moved clothes to the line in the shower when we sailed on Discovery 2 - didn't want them to blow away!! edinburgher Posted September 23, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted September 23, 2018 Bumping this up in the hope that someone who sailed Explorer might yet answer.
