Taxis from Marseille Port

In Marseille, are there taxis at the location where the ship docks? If so, what is the approximate cost to the old port area?

Yes, plenty of taxis and someone marshalling the queue. We paid 20 euros for the taxi for four of us, but that was a couple of years ago so it might be a bit more now.

3 months ago we took a taxi in Marseilles port,  it was the same - 20 euros

Were these for the west LÉON GOURRET terminal?  The east J4 terminal looks like only a short walk to Vieux Port...

In our case, yes, Léon Gourret, which is where the big ships berth. I think (but could be wrong, so stand to be corrected) that the J4 pier is too small to accommodate the big ships.
