gerelmx Posted September 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2018 We will be in Quebec the marathon day onboard the Summit, have booked 2 excursions with Celebrity at 10:30AM and 5:00PM, please comment about difficulties getting transportation to our dock
Host Carolyn Posted September 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2018 If your tours are booked through the cruise line they will have planned around that. Those with independent tours could have a lot more hassle. From the map it looks like streets along perimeter of walled Old City will be along the route, but not the interior streets. Since tours will leave from dock area, which is in lower town, there shouldn't be difficulty getting into that area. Don't know what tours you are on but many don't even go into old city for long

Host Carolyn Posted September 27, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 27, 2018 The route along the plains of Abraham where marathon route along river looks like it could be along area near port but it's in fact on a cliff above the river. There are a couple of ways to get to port including bridge from Ile d Orlean. I can't imagine a scenario where you would board the ship only to find out your tours had been cancelled due to the Marathon but if Celebrity online check in has a link where you can ask questions prior to boarding, you could use that. Also, most cruise lines allow you to cancel a prebooked shore tour more than 24 hours out. Are you in Quebec beginning or end of cruise? If at the end you will have a lot of time on board to get this answered but otherwise Celebrity customer service may be able to help.
