Cultural Cuba - Viking Star Reviews

We would love to hear some real time reviews from fellow cruisers on the Cultural Cuba trip. We are going to be on the same cruise on the 15th and cannot wait. Thanks.

We got on board today. We were upgraded from  PV2 to a penthouse suite. We had a lunch with wine and beer at the world cafe and dinner the restaurant. Tomorrow is a sea day and they don't many activities scheduled. There were musicians all over and there was to be a dance party on deck. We were too tired to anywhere after dinner.

I don't know if the cruise we took was "Cultural Cuba" or not.  Our itinerary last December on the Sun was from Miami, spending a day in Key West, and then two and a half days in Cienfuegos, with a chance to go to Havana.  If you'd like to see photos, they are here:

Viking and the Cuban tour guides did a fabulous job.  We were kind of lucky in that all the Cuba excursions were covered by Viking.  That was because we had signed up for a cruise we thought would dock in Havana and then in between the time we signed up and the time we went, Cuba made us dock in Cienfuegos instead.  Now I believe there are no surprises (good!), but the Cuba excursions are no longer included in the cruise price (bad!)  It was a jam-packed tour of Cuba, but I'd love to do it again.

That gives us a great perspective of Cuba before we even get there.

No Key West on this trip. Miami to Cienfuegos for a full day and two partial days. Then to Santiago de Cuba for a day before sailing back to Miami.

We are so looking forward to the trip and our first time with Viking.
