bfgood2 Posted May 3, 2019 #27 Share Posted May 3, 2019 Hallasm, Thanks for the correction. I did it in meters (2300) and then converted to 1.43 miles. That's better! I had a response from Den Gamle By and they open at 10:00 and do not open early on cruise days.

Unfortunately you’ll find that most shops as well as sights do not open before 10. Time for a nice breakfast - either at the ship or at a Cafe and maybe also time to walk to Den Gamle By. Enjoy your day in “Aarhus, Danish for progress” or “Smilets By” in Danish.

Adiona Posted July 23, 2019 #30 Share Posted July 23, 2019 Has anyone travelled to Billund from Aarhus? My son (and husband!) would love to see the Lego House at Billund and I'm just wondering how complicated it would be to navigate the transport system. There are two options - both are about two hours each way. Take the train from Aarhus central station to Vejle station - then a bus to Legoland - the other option is bus from Aarhus to Billund Airport and then another bus to Legoland. Both options will require some 15 minutes walk from the pier. Might also be possible with light rail or bus to either the bus station or Central Station from the pier. if you have a specific date as well as time I can direct you to the best planning tools. Also ship in order to locate the pier.
Adiona Posted July 23, 2019 #32 Share Posted July 23, 2019 Thank you! We're there on the 9th August. I don't know how long we have ashore so I'm not sure if it's viable or not. We're in Copenhagen on 31stJuly but I thought Aarhus was better for Billund. Although happy to be corrected if it's not.

Adiona Posted July 23, 2019 #34 Share Posted July 23, 2019 CMV - Columbus.
hallasm Posted July 23, 2019 #35 Share Posted July 23, 2019 As I see it Columbus is docked from 08:00 to 13:00 - it does give You max 5 hours in Aarhus - no chance to make a tour to Legoland. Do not really know what you can do in Aarhus given that most sights does open at 10:00 - one suggestion might be ‘Den Gamle By’
Adiona Posted July 24, 2019 #36 Share Posted July 24, 2019 Oh that isn't long at all. Thank you so much for all your advice and help. Now I just need to stop mentioning Lego and try to get the 10-yr-old enthused about Den Gamle By instead!

That’s a challenge- at least free admission for children below the age of 18. Link to ‘Den Gamle By’
