Is there much to do/see within walking distance without doing a tour?

I would appreciate any info.  

Is there much to do or see within walking distance of where the shuttle bus drops off passengers?  

 

We are a group of 3.  Two of us are doing a tour, but the 3rd in our group prefers to get off the ship and just explore.

There are some touristy shops at the pier.  In about 20+ minutes you can walk, or for $5 each way you can taxi, to downtown or one of the popular beach clubs along Carlisle Bay (Pirate's cove, Boatyard, Harbor Lights, etc.).
