George C Posted December 14, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 14, 2018 Been wanting to sail oasis class for a while but we like suites and they cost way more on oasis . Check-in was super fast we left hotel at 11am and was sitting in suite lounge at 11:30, really surprised that suite lounge was almost entirely full at that time almost all pinnacle. Bought drink package this was our first cruise as diamond plus so we did get 30 percent off cost was 50 a day including the 18 percent. Suite lounge. bar and costal kitchen was just one large room on deck 17 with really great views. Had breakfast and lunch there every day but one, had dinner there first two nights , first night was excellent second not so much. There was also a dog in suite lounge never barked or was allowed to walk around. Owners suite was huge really did not need all that space for two people will return to grand suite most likely on next RCCL cruise, suite seating for show was great as normal but pool seating was terrible two deck above pool , always likes Navigator and Liberty which have seating very close to pool, but not hard to find a seat by pool. One of the main reasons we love RCCL is entertainment and that was really great many more options than the Voyager class and Freedom class that we normally sail on. The two biggest add-ons was the aqua show and jazz club, we spent time in jazz club almost every night. Lots of new restaurants also we did our normal Chops and Giovanni's, but also did the hibachi in izumi and 150cp which we really liked. Enjoyed central park which had classical music every night , Chops has a outside area that you could here the music and was less noisy than inside. We normally sail the weekend after thanksgiving and we did this again leaving 11/25. Really surprised on the amount of children on this cruise on previous cruises on navigator and liberty on same week there was very few. We drank wine for every lunch and dinner ( and champagne a couple of breakfasts ) wine we drank was 15 a glass so we paid the extra couple of dollars we rarely find a wine that we like that is totally covered. Now for drinks last year on navigator never had a issue ordering doubles which was not allowed on oasis but no big thing . Now at 150cp our 15 dollar wine was now 17? which did not stop us from having several glasses each, but when we received bill no extra charge for wine. next night at Giovanni's wine was again 15 and had several more glasses again no charge for wine. Also was not charged corkage for our two bottles sane thing last year. Not much interaction with concierge all week but they did great job walking us off and to head of security line , there was only a few booths open for tsa , I hope they added some later. Really enjoyed rising tide bar did that twice . Casino was also good won a couple of hundred which is very rare for me. Great ship but way to many children , looking forward to a adult only music charter in March on celebrity . Then our first yacht club on MSC .
