zzmmmommy Posted January 7, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2019 Hi, we are a family of 6 (4 kids- between 14-10 years old). Last year we did the carnival magic and loved the idea of the cruise (we had a horrible experience with the room but that is a whole other story), but the 7 days was a bit too long for my kids. I am looking for a shorter cruise, but still with some bells and whistles. I know the RCCL Independence of the Seas was just redone, so something like that. My kids don't go in the camp so we prefer a ship that has lots for them to do. Any cruise line...any suggestions? Destination doesn't matter...but we prefer to leave from Port Canaveral so we can go to Disney a day or two before. Our Spring Break is March 21- March 31. Thank you so much! Rare Essiesmom Posted January 7, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2019 Here is a site to use to locate cruises by time, port, ship... https://www.cruisetimetables.com/cruises-from-port-canaveral-florida.html. Have fun browsing. EM
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 7, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 7, 2019 If I were you -- stay with the 7 day cruise. 3 and 4 day cruises tend to attract the drinking crowd which I doubt you want your children exposed to. The most activities are in the children's clubs -- they really should them.

I wish we could do the 7 day - but for a family of 6 the price is just too much, especially for my kids to not be so interested. I am going to take another look though since our Spring Break seems to be earlier than most areas. Thanks!
pacruise804 Posted January 8, 2019 #5 Share Posted January 8, 2019 If you can find a 5 day it might not be as "boozy" as a 3-4 day. Also, the drinkers are likely to stay near the bars (maybe some issues near the pool) and not necessarily where the kids would be (sports decks, arcades, etc). While I wouldn't want my kids around drunkenness, just being around others who are drinking (responsibly enjoying) wouldn't be a deal breaker. It might even give a good starting point for discussions about drinking respective of your family's values. Maybe pack a few card games too for family fun in case of bad weather. Have a great vacation.
