What you call the K.I.S.S. method does not work for many travelers/cruisers who lack experience and/or basic travel sense.  A very basic example is the popular "tours by locals" program (and related web site) used by many cruisers around the world.  There is now a booming "Tours by Local" program in St Petersburg and these guides are licensed.  While those guides (who are licensed) do post lots of info on the Internet, many do not even mention the issue about Visas or lack thereof for cruisers.   So when you decide to post something like ("if you use a licensed guide  you will be covered  ") it is completely mis leading and just not true!

That is why many of us who post here are always recommending tour companies rather then specific tour guides.   There is nothing "simple" about travel in Russia.

If there is no cruise tab, it seems it means there is no special rules for people on cruise ships.

Some places, such as Russia are different with certain tour companies eligible for a visa waiver.

Site is still a good resource, and always, check with the Embassy or Consulate of the country you are visiting.
