fstuff1 Posted January 24, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2019 (edited) My $21 medical evac insurance policy for almost ANY length of cruise from Insuremytrip.com is no longer offered in my state, apparently as of Jan 1,2019. It was Berkshire Hathaway Exactcare: $300k evac, $25k PRIMARY medical the lowest cost recommended plan on Insuremytrip.com is now Arch RoamRight Preferred for $23. also, i mainly sail NCL and they have a $25 essential insurance plan. and then there's the BlueCross/BlueShield's GeoBlue annual plan for $100: https://www.geobluetravelinsurance.com/products/multi-trip/trekker-quote-results.cfm Anybody know about any of those? Recommendations for a Medical Evac only policy? Edited January 24, 2019 by fstuff1
fstuff1 Posted January 25, 2019 Author #2 Share Posted January 25, 2019 (edited) Bought Blue Cross/Blue Shield's Geo Trekker Essential plan: $250k evac $50k medical $100 for 1yr, unlimited cruises (max 70day per cruise) i plan on doing 5 cruises in 2019 so that equates to $20/cruise. almost same price as the Berkshire Hathaway Evac plan i was getting in 2018. Rare Hlitner Posted January 25, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2019 Many consider the Med Evac - Only plan from Medjetassist as the Cadillac of evacuation plans. They stress that the MedJet Assist plan gives a traveler more rights when it comes to evacuation. As with any insurance, one should carefully read the various plans (including definitions and options) and make the decision that best fits their own risk-tolerance profile.
