Tampa disembarkation quesitons

We plan to spend the weekend in Tampa when we disembark. We don't want travel too far afield because we don't want a long ride to the airport on Sunday. In fact, we will probably just spend the day at Adventure Island on Saturday, and hang out and have brunch on Sunday. My sister is joining us with her 5yo.

If we do self-disembarkation with our bags, will we have to carry them down any stairs? Will that help significantly with getting through C&I?

We want to rent a car, will a local agency pick us up at the port? Is it better/faster to just take a taxi to the agency?

My sister is joining us with her 5yo, can anyone recommend a hotel with a good pool or play area for children?

Thank you!

if you stay anywhere along Riverwalk in the downtown Tampa area you can take the water taxi to Waterworks Park with a free 'splashpad' for the lil one ....

and the water taxi itself would probably be fun ... and at the southern end is the aquarium ......

and a short walk from the aquarium is a Columbia Cafe with a portion of the menu of Columbia rest' in YBOR city without the crowds .... http://www.columbiarestaurant.com/Menus-By-Location/Locations/Tampa-Bay-History-Center

and don't forget a ride on the Tampa Streetcar system - also fun for a lil one? .... http://www.tecolinestreetcar.org/#/home
