Royal Suite Perks Question

Recommended Posts

I was lucky enough to book the Royal Suite on the Freedom of the Seas next year; kind of a once in a lifetime celebration & 40 year wedding anniversary (got a good price).

The question I have is around the perks that come with the Royal Suite. I saw some ships indicate it comes with the drink package, internet, etc etc. I didn't see that listed for our sailing on the Freedom. Does anyone know if all the 'normal' add on perks like drink package and internet come with the Royal Suite on all ships?

I appreciate any responses as I have not been able to find this on RC's web page. Thanks.

I also just booked on a Freedom class ship (Liberty of the Seas).  From what I read, we get relatively the same perks as those sailing Sky class on the Oasis class ships.

  • Priority embark/disembark
  • Access to Concierge lounge (has continental breakfast and a happy hour with booze in the evening plus a concierge available to help with bookings onboard)
  • Reserved seating near the pool
  • Reserved seating for shows

I know I'm not listing everything but that is a brief list.

I've been in Royal Suite on Grandeur, and like Freedom of the seas doesn't come with any of the fancy stuff 'star class' gets you on the larger ships.  So no free drinks, wifi, special resturants (although you do get the suite breakfast...on our boat it was in chops and wonderful every morning).  However the concierge was wonderful and treated us like we were the only people on the boat.  For example, we got into Miami a little late and a called him up while we were pulling into port and said "Hey, I don't have an excursion booked, but I'm taking the kids to the Aquarium, can you help us get off the ship?" and he said "absolutely, come to this spot in 10 minutes"....and just like that, as soon as the ship was cleared....he escorted us off first (even ahead of all the official Royal excursions)....we grabbed an uber over the aquarium and walked in just as the formal shows kicked off.   We also didn't need reserved seating for shows....it was easy to walk in and get a seat (unlike the larger ships)
