We are doing a 70th birthday family cruise. We will have 3 cabins with children ranging in age from 2 to 14 and one Grandma. How is the itinerary, staying in Bermuda a few nights for young families? Is there a lot to do for the children: swimming, activities, etc on the Summit? Also, are there shows at night that are family friendly? Appreciate your thoughts!

there is a kids club and a teen club on the ship . The indoor pool may or may not open for a short time daily to kids . Depends on the weather. It will be announced.  Children must be fully toilet trained to use any pool.

As for evening shows .. they are not planned to be child entertainment but most will be ok like the production shows and musicals.  Comedians.. probably not.

We see very few children onboard but if you are sailing when school is out, there will be more

My DH and I were on the Summit this past July for a Bermuda cruise.

Our friends’ two children 8 and 11 were with us.

The children did not choose to go to the kids’ clubs,so I cannot comment on the clubs.

They did enjoy the main pool although there aren’t slides.

The wait staff in the MDR were excellent with the children and they enjoyed the special attention. Shows at night were family friendly.

There are limited pool games, I recall a volleyball match in the pool between officers and passengers, but no hairy chest or leg contests etc. Movies are shown in the evenings on an outside top deck.

We appreciated the smoking policy on Celebrity that bans smoking anywhere in the interior of the ship including the casino and on the balconies. Dedicated smoking areas are located on outside deck areas.

Bermuda is full of activities . For example,we went to Horseshoe Bay twice for snorkeling, the aquarium and caves. There is a mini golf course at the Dockyard where the ship docked,as well as a fort and maritime museum. There is a man made beach near the dock, but we enjoy the other beautiful beaches on the island. You can get to the beaches and other sites by public bus or by hiring one of the taxis that line up near the pier.

There are shops at the Dockyard as well as a glass blowing studio.

Ferries are available near the ship that go to Hamilton ( the capital of Bermuda) and St George’s ( a town with a lot of history and beaches). Glass bottom boats, catamarans and jet skis for rental or tours are also located near the ship.

If I was considering a multi generation family vacation, I would certainly consider Celebrity because it has something that would please the ages in my traveling party.
