Have a couple of questions hopefully someone will know the answers .

Which side of the ship should I choose my cabin for ultimate sunshine on the Constellation Singapore to Dubai cruise ?

Also,does anyone know if Elite members can ask to get an upgrade from  Concierge C2 up to a C1when booking ,or do you wait until you're booked.

How do these elite upgrades work? .

You can’t use the one category upgrade to a C1 paying the C2 price as C1s are exempt from the upgrade offer. There are several exemptions including C1, FV, SV, suites etc.

‘One-category upgrade requests must be made at the time of booking and apply only for upgrades within the supercategory, depending on availability. Example of a supercategory upgrade in AquaClass: A2 to A1. Captain's Club one category upgrade excludes category 12, FV, SV, C1 and guarantee categories, Z, Y, X, XC, XA, W. This offer cannot be used with certain restricted fares including but not limited to travel agent and employee rates. Upgrades apply for one stateroom per cruise. Stateroom assignments only. Not valid on holiday sailings. Upgrades available from categories 11- A1 (subject to exclusions above) on all Celebrity ships except Celebrity Xpedition®, Celebrity Xperience℠ and Celebrity Xploration℠. Offer valid for members who are Classic Level or higher at the time of booking.’

Have never been on your selected cruise; but since it is generally a westward journey I would expect more sunshine on the "southern" balconies on the port (left) side.

 

Unfortunately, the Captain's Club one-category upgrade does not apply to the upgrade from C2 to C1 (just one of the few exceptions.) It would apply to from C3 to C2 or from A2 to A1. When you wish to receive a qualifing upgrade, you should request it at the time you book it. For example, book an A1 and request it to be priced at the lower A2 fare.
