This thread has been much quieter than I would have expected with this busy cruise season in full swing. Is it just that no one is getting successful move ups?  Sailing this weekend, and haven't really seen hardly anyone posting accepted/rejected data...

It's quiet because there are far less winning bids now that ships are sailing 100% capacity.

General Comments (offer details, etc.)

We only bid on Aqua Sky Suite.  Other offerings with minimum bids - Royal Suite ($1250 pp); Celebrity Suite ($1500 pp); Sky Suite ($850 pp); Aqua Class Stateroom ($400 pp).

OK so now that it actually was accepted, I need to figure out what it means lol.  I know that it doesn't include beverage package or Wi-fi.  We are minimal drinkers so that works for me and I already purchased Wi-fi when Celebrity had their 40% off sale:).

My big question  - is there anything else that is standard for Aqua Sky Suite that we don't get with the accepted move up bid?  I want to take advantage of anything we get but I don't want to make assumptions and then get turned away.  The embarrassment would really suck away my excitement of being in a suite lol.

Happy sailing everyone!

OMG I had decided to up my offers . I’d be going from an OV to balcony of some sort. I just now went in and had put offers on 5 classes. All are showing as expired but one ‘Concierge’ pending. I so wish I could go in now and up my offer to improve my chances. Sailing mostly sold out 26/8 Infinity but one or two Concierge were available. Fingers crossed and I hope they put me out of my misery soon, either way!  Bids started at €370 on all classes and pending one is €405 - eek.

Just had Concierge bid accepted. €405pp

Going up from OV. I’m delighted.

Since you are now in the Retreat, you can go to the Retreat Lounge Bar and get whatever you want to drink for free. They also have a fridge full of soda, beer, water that you can help yourself to.

I was notified today, 7 August 2023, that my bid for the Edge Villa was accepted! I actually increased the bid a few days ago to $3,500 pp.  So it was pricey but this is cruise for a milestone birthday and I’m still getting the suite for about half the list price, including what I paid already.

I was notified today, 8/9, that we were upgraded from Ocean View to Concierge Class on the Celebrity infinity sailing on 8/19 from Athens. We bid slightly more than the minimum, $415 American for a minimum $400 bid. Veranda and Premium Deluxe Veranda also had $400 minimum (also bid $415). Aqua Class was $650 minimum. Concierge is sold out on the website. Very excited to have a balcony and be higher up on the ship (from deck 2 to deck 9)!

Turns out, because they had a 50% bid promotion, $415 was the price for both of us! Ended up $437 with taxes.

Excellent price. I had an accepted bid OV to concierge 26/8 €405 x 2 but as there are 3 of us the pp rate not too bad. I’m delighted even though twice the price you paid! Enjoy

General Comments (offer details, etc.)

It was on a 50% off minimum bid when I put my bids in. I bid just enough to put me out of the red bracket in the strength of bid.

The ship is almost completely full now. Sunset and edge villas all sold out a while ago but still half of Aqua suites remaining so thought that bid was most likely to be accepted.

We weren't sure whether it was worth the extra money but didn't like the look of the enclosed balcony for magic carpet suite so went for it.

How does that 50% offer actually work. I bid $1400 for upgrade to sky suite and it shows I’d owe $2800. It says I have the 50% bid promotion. So, does it cost twice my bid, for two people, but count as if I’d bid double my bid for them to decide on an upgrade or not?

The minimum and maximum bid amounts are per person based on double occupancy, so what ever you put in on the little slider will always be doubled.  As for the 50%, supposedly it means the bid ranges are discounted (i.e., the minimum bid is half of what it would normally be).  However, I take that with a grain of salt.  As is typical of all discount promotions, the “normal” price is simultaneously inflated, so it’s really a wash, purpose being to entice bids.
