harpy3 Posted May 2, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2019 We are in Princess Grills. At dinner, can we order an item that is on another menu (Brittania, Verandah). Or do we have to order just off PG menu?
Bell Boy Posted May 2, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 2, 2019 (edited) I doubt you'll be able to order an item off the 'Verandah menu' unless you give them prior notice . You'll find that one or two of the evening Dinner Items on a Britannia Menu are also found on the Grill's evening menu. Having said that, not too sure why one would want to request an item from a Britannia menu , because the 'same option in the Grills' will be a superior cut or quality. 😉 . BigMac1953 Posted May 2, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 2, 2019 Certainly, if you are in QG, you will be actively encouraged to order "off menu". We have a few favourites that we always request. PG may try to accommodate, but you will have to give plenty notice, always remembering that ordering off menu is not supposed to happen, so be very nice to the staff!

Rare 3rdGenCunarder Posted May 2, 2019 #5 Share Posted May 2, 2019 (edited) When we were in PG a few years ago, our waiters showed us the next night's menu so we could decide if there was something we liked or if that would be a good night to order from the "advance notice" menu. Over the course of 2 weeks, I think some or all of us had most of the advance notice items. Many of them were flambeed--we were the pyromaniac table! Everyone else can feel free to answer as well. I’m trying to get an idea of what is reasonable to ask for.
BigMac1953 Posted May 4, 2019 #7 Share Posted May 4, 2019 Hi TV Dad One of our great favourites is Peking Duck. You have to give them at least 3 day's notice. You get the biggest duck they can find and it's finished off at your table. Crepes are always good for dessert, but normally must be ordered in advance. We've also had an Italian night, courtesy of Sandro, Maitre d' and an Indian night organised by the Head Waiter (there's 2 in QG). At lunch, either the Maitre d' or Head Waiter will check that you're happy with the dinner menu. If not, you can request just about anything you can dream up. The running joke, is that someone once asked the Maitre d' for grilled eliphant ears. The reply was "Would that be African or Indian?". This is probably the worst mistake you have ever made, just like us. From now on, it will be QG all the way and you'll spend all the inheritance cash with Cunard. Have fun!
