For anyone who has done overland tours in Africa, what type electrical outlets are found where?  I know that many places use Type M, but there is no consistency.  Any info appreciated.

As you have correctly identified, it varies so widely it is impossible to be general (and you’ll frequently find a mix). Bluntly, it sometimes  depends on who was the former colonial power, so U.K. or Euro style sockets. A universal adapter may be ideal!

Type M is really only generally found in Southern Africa, but certainly consider one for South Africa, Lesotho, Eswatini (Swaziland) and Mozambique.

What countries are are you considering?
