Feb 22-29 2020 - weather & rough seas?

Hoping to get feedback from those who have been to the islands and/or on a cruise during this part of February. I’ve got this week reserved but while reading over some of the reviews it looked like the week of Valentine week this year (or maybe 2018), cruisers missed Maui and Kona due to rough seas. Does this risk go down in March? Would you chance it or stay booked?

Does the risk go down? Yes, some. But the seas are not predictable.  Hawaii had a pretty wet winter last year, but last year's weather has absolutely nothing to do with this next year's.

 

My advice...don't overthink this. Just go and enjoy whatever happens.

Ditto! You could scrub your plans for that time and pick another time and the seas could be rough then!

Thanks for the feedback; I’m hoping that since the cruise ends basically at March 1 (Feb 29th - leap year next year), we will be out of the rough wintery seas.

The weather doesn't work on a strict calendar.  We had a very wet spring this year in California...storms into May. Hawaii also had a very wet winter.
