Cruised from Yokohama on HAL?

Anyone who has cruised from Yokohama on HAL Know whether you can disembark after you have checked in and boarded? Ship doesn’t sail until 11pm but checkin starts at 1pm so we are wondering if you can get off and wander around before sail away time. Obviously have to be onboard for the safety drill but there are some great places that would be nice to walk around after dark.

Yes.

One tip - if you were on a early flight into Tokyo, I would suggest taking a taxi or alternate transportation to Yokohama terminal.

 

The HAL bus will usually wait around the Tokyo airport until it gets a full load which may not occur until very late AM or noon and it takes about an hour to get to Yokohama. I don't recall when we had the safety drill but I believe it was before dinner time.

When you walk from the ship towards Yokohama city, turn right and walk around the harbor, you'll see two large brick buildings, inside there are tons of restaurants, gift shops,beer bars etc, you can  sit inside or outside and watch the people of Yokohama..

Check the time of the drill, probably 4:00pm, you can go after that too.
