NCL Sun 5 day cruise recommendation

We are looking to book a 5 day Bahama cruise on the NCL Sun. It stops at GSC. We have 11 and 7 year old grandkids who went with us a yr ago on Carnival. and had the best time.  Is the Sun a ship that you would recommend for children?  They no longer include the all inclusive drinks, its a perk like all the other NCL ships.  Is there a kids club onboard the Sun?  Thanks for any past experience on this ship.

No, the Sun isn't really a ship for kids.  We were on it for 12 nights but it was in the Baltics with our kids so we were busy pretty much all the time.  They do have kids clubs all the way forward and actually have a nice view out of the front of the ship.

But since it is only 5 days, I probably wouldn't worry about it too much plus you are going to GSC which they should like (it can get skipped though if wavy).  There are usually board games so maybe you can play some of those plus.

No, not really. Your kids will be bored. There is a kids club and a small arcade but that's about it. Look into the 5 day sailings out of New Orleans on the Getaway...they would have a blast on that ship.

No 5 day cruises available during the week we are looking at out of NOLA. That would have been fun though:-)

The kids pool on the SUN is a baby pool and the other pools are very deep.  Kids club on the ship is really good though, they have family activities too.  I think the grand finale is a Circus Show where the kids participate as the acts.

This sounds encouraging! Thanks...there is only one sea day unless we cant tender to GSC.  The Circus Show sounds like lots of fun.

Just a caveat .... I'm not sure if they do that on a 5 day cruise.   Perhaps you can look at a roll call leaving soon and ask for people to bring back information on the Kids Club for you.  Or start a new thread just requesting Kids Club information for the SUN, you might get more helpful answers.
