Anchorage hotel for two nights?

We need a hotel for two nights before we start our land tour.  We will be staying one night at whatever hotel NCL gives us but for our first two nights we would like a hotel with a great location for getting around as we do not plan on renting a car.  We don't mind paying for taxi's or using shuttles and location to the airport or airport shuttle is not necessary.  We have looked into Captain Cook but are open to other options and ideas.  Thank you

The Cook is a good choice. Great location downtown, multiple restaurants/bars onsite and many more within a few blocks. You’re also a 5 minute walk to the Visitor Center Log Cabin where several shuttles depart from to various places in the Anchorage bowl.  It would be nice to know what hotel NCL uses as it may not be worth it to move. There are other nice hotels downtown as well although it’s hard to beat the Cook.

I agree on NCL letting us know the hotel more than 30 days out...it makes it a bit difficult on booking.  I believe we will just go ahead and book Captain Cook for the two nights - thank you

You will find activities to fill those two days in Anchorage although you might also consider a day trip down Turnagain Arm. You could rent a car for the day or there are several tour operators that do trips down that way. There are several glaciers, the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, Girdwood and the views along the Arm are some of the best in the state. You’ll be traveling along that route when you get transport to the ship although it’s really a place you’ll want to stop and enjoy things rather than zipping on by.
