drkitkat123 Posted November 28, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2019 Our Oceania cruise visits there next year and there is a severe dearth of information about cruise stops there. Anyone been there on a cruise and can recommend any tours?

angie7911922 Posted November 28, 2019 #3 Share Posted November 28, 2019 I have been to Antwerp, but not while on a cruise ship. The old center is nice just to walk around, go into a chocolate store and have a coffee somewhere with a nice warm Belgium Waffle. What kind of tours are they offering? Rare mskaufman Posted November 28, 2019 #4 Share Posted November 28, 2019 From Antwerp you are a half hour (or so by train) away from Bruges. The Antwerp train station itself is a tourist destination as is the diamond district. Some interesting museums. If you have enough time, I would think about Bruges or Ghent. Rare mskaufman Posted November 29, 2019 #6 Share Posted November 29, 2019 That would be my personal opinion. It depends on how much time you have in port. If it is only a few hours, staying in Antwerp makes sense. If you have all day, pick one of the others. Bruges is a little further from Antwerp than Ghent but check the train schedules if you are DIY to see what makes sense. If you are looking for a tour or a driver, it is probably about the same. Bruges is more touristy than Ghent.
