drkitkat123 Posted November 28, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2019 Anyone stopped in Antwerp for the day. We will be there on an Oceania cruise July next year and there does not seem to much info on cruise stopping there. Any tour recommendations? Bob++ Posted November 28, 2019 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2019 I haven't been there but I found this site which looks useful: https://travelpassionate.com/one-day-in-antwerp-belgium-things-to-do-and-see/
Dutch_Travelgirl Posted November 28, 2019 #3 Share Posted November 28, 2019 You don’t need a tour to explore Antwerp. Your ship will dock very close to the historic city center, which is compact and mostly pedestrianised. If you’re interested in the history of European migrants that migrated to the USA I can highly recommend a visit to the Red Star Line museum, see here https://www.redstarline.be/en
BarbinMich Posted November 30, 2019 #4 Share Posted November 30, 2019 We've been to Antwerp twice (2003 and 2007). The first was on an ocean liner, the second on a river cruise. I found it an interesting place to wander around--many older and interesting buildings. Plus, it's known for its "Diamond District" if you're interesting in buying. The city is about 20 miles upstream from the ocean on the River Scheldt.
