Ocean Medallion and Cabin Assignment Change

My family and I are booked on an upcoming Princess cruise. It will be an Ocean Medallion cruise. Currently we have my mom and I in one cabin and my husband and my dad in the other. We did it this way as it was cheaper due to the offers my parents received. We need to switch to where my husband and I will be in one cabin and my parents in the other. Do you have suggestions on how this can be done? We were just going to switch who stays in what room, but not sure how this will work with the Ocean Medallion and it being a key to the cabin. Any suggestions?

Just go to the guest services desk and let them know who will be in which cabin and they can set it up just like they used to do when passengers had cruise cards.

Right.  A couple of keystrokes later and you are good to go. Have a great voyage.

Just a caution. When changing rooms ask the purser to make the changes in the billing system. On a recent Regal cruise my wife and I needed to switch cabins 2 days into our cruise. The Medallions were reprogrammed for doors but we had some challenges when charging with a tap. We came to find out that the 2 systems do not talk to each other and returned to passenger services to correct this issue. We were able to charge but when we gave our new cabin# it didn't register. This was all resolved once the billing system was updated with our new cabin assignment.

We have teenagers that stay directly across the hall from us. They need to be able to get into our room and we need to be able to get into theirs. Is this possible with the Medallion?

You can arrange this at the Guest Services Desk. They will probably give you a 2nd Medallion** for the other cabin just like they used to give a 2nd cruise card when Medallions did not exist.

** Or possibly a cruise card for the other cabin.
