Curious    Can you use your phones hotspot to run another devise?

I'm not sure if you are talking about using a cell phone hotspot on the ship but beware, alot of cell phone providers charge roaming when using your phone data on the ship, I've heard horror stories about people getting a 1000.00 cell phone bill for data roaming....

as one mentioned above please check with your Currier being cruising if you plan on using your cell data especially if you are hot spotting, you could pile up a monster bill if you are not covered internationally, from my understanding you cant hotspot off of a wifi connection and it will revert too your cell data.. i.e. big money unless its included in your plan

Phones usually require a cellular data connection to act as a hotspot.

There are a few phones that can hot spot a WiFi connection and you can also do it with a Win 10 laptop, but, you are sharing (with overhead hit) an already crappy sat connection (especially on a non-O3B ship) - performance will be pretty bad. Just switch between devices when needed.
