Is there anyplace in Nassau to get a designer purse near the port?

If you mean illegal knock offs, then yes, you can find  them near the straw market.

Keep In mind they are illegal in the Bahamas as well, and customs sometimes confiscates them.  Be careful being led to alleyway places.  Some not so nice people run a scam.

 

If you are looking for Fendi and Gucci etc.  Yes, there are stores along Bay Street that sell them as well.   Subject to Vat and customs tax as well for items over your allowed amount.

They must have cracked down on the knock-offs because I didn’t see any at the straw market in Nassau when I was there last month.

It's pretty well known that knock off purses are one of the funding sources for human trafficking.  Plus, they are crap.  Easy to tell the difference between the knock offs and the real thing.  I'm pretty sure they have cracked down because you rarely see them anymore.

 

Real ones, yes, but there are less stores now than there were a few years ago.

Thank you for reminding people they are participating in human trafficking by purchasing these items which everyone knows are fakes.
