Voyager - question for smokers

Hi we are off on Voyager on Friday and we have our check-in time of 11.30am.  There are a few smokers in our group that would like to ask if they can get back off the ship to have a cigarette once they've checked in.  Apparently one of the travellers was told on their last cruise that they couldn't smoke until sail away because of the ship refuelling, which I completely understand.  So does anyone know if they will they be allowed off ship once checked-in?

Once you have checked in and boarded, you will not be able to disembark. 

 

If members of your party want to smoke, you can wait until a bit later to embark.

Not a smoker myself but I do know there are 2 designated smoking areas.  Deck 4 port side and deck 11 starboard.  It makes sense that there would be no smoking during refuelling especially on deck 4 but I'm not sure about deck 11.

 

My understanding is that once onboard you stay onboard.  Perhaps some nicotine chewy will help - or delayed boarding.

 

I wouldn't be ruining the start of my cruise for someone else's addiction.

Definitely cannot get back off, smoking is usually allowed up on the pool deck, have seen many there on several cruises., my brother being one.

All ships I have been on allow smoking in the designated smoking area on the pool deck on embarkation day but of course not on the port side deck 4 or 5 area until re-fuelling is complete. In fact usually those areas are blocked off anyway during this activity.
