Questions about Celebrity Edge

We just recently booked a back to back on the Edge.  I have a few questions and would appreciate a response from anyone who has sailed her and knows the answers.

1.  We are in a Concierge cabin.  Our friends are in a Celebrity Suite.  Even though they have access to Luminae - their desire is to dine with us.  We have selected Select Dining Plus for the first cruise.  Will they be allowed to dine with us in any of the 4 MDR ?  Do you suggest we make reservations before we sail to be sure to get the times we want for the nights we want?  How soon can this be reserved?  We DID book traditional early dining for our second cruise of the back to back.  Our friends will only be on the first cruise.

2.  Do you book entertainment ahead on this ship like Royal Caribbean has you do for Oasis class ships?

3.  Will we be required to exit the ship between sailings?

4.  Will we be invited to attend the embarkation lunch for the second cruise offered for Concierge passengers since we are already on the ship?

Any overall advice about pros or cons of this ship would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you for your time - smooth sailing to all.

Please do not ask why I did not do a search - for some reason I am having difficulty with that feature for some reason on my computer.

So, while I haven't been on Edge specifically - my answers based upon my other Celebrity cruises is below

1.  Suites can dine pretty much anywhere they wish - I would recommend talking with the Select Dining Maitre'd when you board to ensure it's set up correctly.  I am not certain if you can make reservations for MDR in advance if you are in a suite.  Depends on what time you like to eat - it's typically busiest around 7-8pm, but a lot of that depends on the guests onboard.

2.  No

3.  Yes, to clear customs, but they usually let you right back onboard.  There's typically a group of the b2b guests they escort on and off the ship.

4.  I don't see why not - you are going on that cruise too!  It's just called the embarkation lunch because it's embarkation day for most passengers.

Have fun on your cruise!!!

Yes but officially on a space available basis.   But dining with you should be no problem.   For a fee they may also be able to invite you once to Luminae.

No -   No booking.   On Chic nights the butlers are in the theater and will escort you to reserved seats.

In the U.S. yes.   They have to zero out the ship and you will go ashore to clear customs and immagration and returned to the ship about 15 minutes later.    You can also get a transit pass and go ashore and tour for the day and then come back to the terminal where you skip the lines and pick up your new sea pass.

On many of our B2B's all the B2B's were invited to dine in MDR for Lunch.  Menu is very limited and IMHO not worth the bother.

Go to the B2B meeting.   We have been on some cruises where they raffel off things like free laundry, specialty dining, wine etc.
