daka Posted February 11, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2020 We are getting very concerned about the CORONA virus and are wondering about cancelling. Since we are both seniors (me at 85) this is a big worry. Has anyone been thinking about this...can we get a refund through our insurance?
wrk2cruise Posted February 11, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2020 Probably if you have cancel for any reason coverage you can get a percentage of your expenses back but not 100%. From what I've read on the cruise insurance board you can't say "I'm concerned about Corona Virus" you just say "I've changed my mind". For other policies there won't be any coverage. I'm also on this same sailing and don't really have concerns but will probably be extra cautious.
Fivelinks Posted February 11, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 11, 2020 I was told an insurance policy would not cover your canceling UNLESS you had purchased a policy that allows you to cancel anytime for any reason. Now I was also told if the ship cancels and does not refund your money for some reason, then your policy would. I certainly understand your concern as a senior. Another concern is if we go ahead as planned and are denied port like what is going on with some of the countries. Worse yet I can't imagine being quarantined on a ship like those poor people on Princess! I am just hoping things will clear up prior to our sailing!!!
