jtdlmc Posted February 19, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2020 HAL offers clam shell sunshades and Manta sun shelters for rent. There is no picture of the Manta sun shelters on their booking page. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a clam shell and a Manta shelter?
jtdlmc Posted February 19, 2020 Author #2 Share Posted February 19, 2020 Found some pictures on amazon, don’t think I will rent one of those😊. What about shade on HMC - I love the sun but DH does not. Last time there with the kids we rented a cabana and I remember a group of people set their chairs up in the shade right against our cabana so I’m wondering if there are lots of shady spots without renting a clam shell? Rare PrincessArlena'sDad Posted February 19, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 19, 2020 On the beach itself, no. The beach is a rather narrow. However, there is shade along the tree line, and you could drag chairs back there and still be pretty close to the water. The buffet area has lots of shaded pavilions, as well. If you a are going in the summer, many people report that it can get really hot under the clamshell, as it can trap the heat. Personally, I would recommend a cabana for someone who can not tolerate hours in the sun.
Belgian fry Posted May 4, 2020 #4 Share Posted May 4, 2020 When we were there in March, people who had booked Mantas were being given clamshells. I wish I'd known before paying for a clamshell...
