Coronavirus updates regarding mandatory screenings

While this situation remains quite fluid, we’ve decided to make a change to our travel regulation to comply with guidance from the U.S. Centers of Disease Control, World Health Organization, and other public health authorities around the world and we wanted to make sure you were informed.

Until further notice, all ships in the Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. fleet will adopt the following health screening protocols:

• Regardless of nationality, we will deny boarding to:

1. • Any guest who has travelled from, to, or through mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macau in the past 15 days.
   • Any guest who has come in contact with anyone from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau in the past 15 days. The CDC characterizes contact with an individual as coming within 6 feet (2M) of a person.

• There will be mandatory specialized health screenings performed on:

1. • Any guest who has travelled from, to, or through Iran, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, or Thailand in the past 15 days.
   • Guests who are uncertain about contact with individuals who have traveled from, to, or through mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macau in the past 15 days.
   • Guests who report feeling unwell or demonstrate any flu-like symptoms.

• Guests presenting with fever or low blood oximetry in the specialized health screenings will be denied boarding.

• All guests who are denied boarding due to these restrictions will receive full refunds.

Sorry if this question has previously come up in other threads. How do RC know say if a passenger has never been to the said countries in the past 15 days? Does the information store in the passport or somewhere? Otherwise I find the policy hard to enforce if people can easily lie about their recent whereabouts.

Today everyone has global database of all the visits made by the passengers (people). They register you everytime you pass customs or borders. So dont be surprised. Its all stored

Reading through the news it may not matter soon as this thing unfortunately doesn’t look contained. At what point is a country put on the list?  Italy just jumped to 30 cases!
