London-Calling Posted April 17, 2020 #2 Share Posted April 17, 2020 Interesting news: I wonder how the experience will compare to the likes of the American Queen Steamboat Company etc? Here is a slide-show of Viking Mississippi:
Rare steamboats Posted April 18, 2020 #3 Share Posted April 18, 2020 Prices are pretty steep.... 8 days/7 nights Upper Mississippi (St. Louis - St. Paul) almost 5000 BP (I´m automatically redirected to the UK website, Viking does not sell on Continental Europe). And that´s per person and the cheapest category! steamboats
sharkster77 Posted April 18, 2020 #4 Share Posted April 18, 2020 Our 8 day/7 night Rhine cruise with Viking last year cost a bit more than half that. Reinforces what I tell my " 'Murica First!" relatives when they ask why I travel to Europe instead of staying home: It's cheaper!!
Rare steamboats Posted April 18, 2020 #5 Share Posted April 18, 2020 While American Cruise Lines is in a similar price range (you can save 1,000 USD when you chose the older boat), American Queen Steamboat Company is roughly at 2,300 USD for the lowest category. steamboats
