I heard that a 15 year old died of the Bubonic Plague a few days ago in Mongolia.  I guess some things never just "go away".

A group of dead squirrels (15?) was recently found in Colorado were determined to have perished of Bubonic Plague. Since they have found the dead ones, they presume that its existing in some live ones too.

Not unusual to find bubonic plague in the southwest.  Pops up every couple of years.  Every few years someone catches it.
