Then we would have missed the entire thing. Nothing would have been visible from the Port side. I understand that the extra cost of balconies (and all other upgraded accommodations) are worth it for many, and I strongly encourage everybody to just decide for themselves. As I mentioned, I've tried a balcony and it really made no meaningful difference for the enjoyment of my cruise.
