It is probably more effective to write to your local Federal Member of Parliament seeking his/her support when the matter is raised in their political party room. Agreed. It's another form of visibility, that makes your MP aware of issues of interest to his constituency. Though again if he only gets a single letter, not likely to make much difference. Rare MicCanberra Posted October 26, 2020 #52 Share Posted October 26, 2020 Perhaps this is what you mean as Clickbait which demonstrates why I think having the Petition is nothing but clickbait - they are a waste of time in trying to change government thinking, no matter what country they are being conducted, hence cannot deliver what is advertised by the link. http://www.new-home-blog.co.uk/petitions-to-government-are-they-a-waste-of-time/
The_Big_M Posted October 26, 2020 #53 Share Posted October 26, 2020 The definition of clickbait isn't about whether it's successful or not. And the link didn't say anything about delivery, just that it's a petition.
Rare MicCanberra Posted October 26, 2020 #54 Share Posted October 26, 2020 Okay Big M, but it is still a useless misdirection.
