groundloop Posted April 18, 2021 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2021 This could turn out to be a very dumb question, but I'm quite ignorant of traditions in Mexico and haven't been able to find consistent answers online. We're booked on a cruise to Cozumel and Progreso the week of Thanksgiving 2021 (crossing my fingers that it's safe to cruise by then). One of the excursions we're looking at visits a school near Progreso (my daughter is a teacher so she's interested in seeing how kids are taught in other countries). I ASSUME that Mexican schools won't close for Thanksgiving, but I've seen conflicting information on this.
FLcruisergrl Posted April 18, 2021 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2021 Thanksgiving is an American holiday, so it’s business as usual in other countries that day.
groundloop Posted April 19, 2021 Author #3 Share Posted April 19, 2021 OK, got a little bit of egg on my face....... The link my daughter sent me which seemed to suggest that there was a Thanksgiving holiday in Mexico was from the school district in the town of Mexico, Missouri. 1
