purplecow15 Posted September 13, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2021 (edited) We are booked on the Joy to Caribbean out of Miami in December. My 16 year old granddaughter has just sent away for passport but its still in process and they are advising it could take many weeks. If by some chance she doesn't receive it by cruise time will not having a passport be an issue for her? Will she need it to visit any of the islands? What other form of ID may be used to board ? She will not have her license yet by boarding time. I know rules change all the time so maybe someone who has cruise the area recently could have some info. It is best to know NCL's rules!!! https://www.ncl.com/freestyle-cruise/cruise-travel-documents - - Note: she could travel with her State certified U.S. birth certificate, IF, she also has a Government-issued photo ID! Just some additional thoughts... On the same link provided above there are other considerations listed which you might need to review!!! For example, if your granddaughter is not traveling with her parents (&/or, you are NOT her legal guardian), look for "Age Requirements for Travel" and read "Traveling with Minors Unaccompanied by Parent or Legal Guardian*
