cheapest transport from WPB airport to Port of Miami

Any suggestions on the cheapest mode of transport for three travelers from West Palm Beach Int'l airport to the Port of Miami? We should land at 10:30 a.m., so we hope time is not an issue:) .

Rent a car. They are really cheap in Florida with no drop off charge.

Tri-Rail will take you from WPB to downtown Miami (Tri-Rail/Metrorail Transfer Station) for only $5.50 per person. From there, you can take a cab or a $2 Metrorail/Metrobus ride (Take the Metrorail to the Government Center Metrorail station and transfer to bus route 52, the Seaport Connection) to the cruise ship terminal.

Tri Rail has not reached a point where it can be considered reliable. A two hour train ride from West Palm Beach to Miami could end up taking 6 hours (an all too common occurance). It is geared towards commuters, not tourists with multiple bags of luggage. The earliest train the OP would be able to catch would be the 1:47pm. Even if the train ran on time they would arrive in Hialeah/Miami at 3:39. Figure another hour minimum for the bus or metromover....what time did you say your ship leaves????

Do yourself a favor, rent a car. In fact if you rent from Avis you can drop it off in downtown Miami 5 minutes from the port. ;)

Whow, I wouldn't depend on the rail around here...rent a car It's just a little over an hour drive...or use a limo service.

You can rent an economy car off Hotwire for $17 per day.

 

I highly suggest taking that route and not even attempting to dick around with Tri-Rail.

Well, the requester did ask for the CHEAPEST means of transport!!! :D :D :D Now if convenience and reliability were added to the mix . . . .

 

This should serve as a reminder that sometimes the cheapest is not the best way to go - particularly when booking hotel rooms or "cruise" lines!

Be sure to ask if those rates include ALL FL taxes, get the actual rental total, not the per day total.
